2025 Moose in Fall Colors

September 21-23rd 2025 Three Days, Two Nights Maximum 6 participants Join myself and Jamin Hunter Taylor on this three day workshop around the Chugach mountains in fall colors where we will photograph bull moose during the peak of their rut. This trip is designed for adventurous photographers who are eager to learn how to safely approach these animals to capture their unique behavior and stunning habitat. All levels of photographers are welcome, but expect to hike 2-3 miles per day! Itinerary: Day 1 - Introduction We will begin our workshop at 3 PM September 21st at our lodging in Anchorage. Here we will check in to our rooms and discuss the coming days before going out for an evening shoot in search of local bull moose in beautiful fall colors. The large bulls moose we will be targeting are certainly intimidating, but they are actually quite calm, and will likely allow us to capture some phenomenal photos at a safe distance. Our evening concludes with a late dinner before heading back to our hotel. Day 2 This day involves an early morning departure to hike out to the Chugach Mountains in search of bull moose at sunrise. We will spend the first hour hiking out in search of moose in this dramatic landscape then, hopefully, spend the next few hours with multiple moose before they go to bed down. We will head back into town for a lunch break and visit a local park to search for red fox. As the evening sun becomes less harsh, we will head out back into the mountains to revisit the gentle giants at sunset. Day 3 We will decide as a group whether we would like to hike back into the mountains for another chance to capture some incredible environmental portraits, or instead take a more leisurely walk in search of moose at local forests in fall colors. Our workshop concludes after a group lunch. Cost Per Person: $2,000 $1,000 deposit required to secure booking. The remaining $1,000 is due 60 days prior to the workshop date.
